All Living Things Environmental Film Festival (ALT EFF) is the world’s largest decentralised film festival and a powerful showcase of environmental cinema rooted in renewal, repair, and resistance. Through cinema, conversations, and community, we reimagine our relationship with all living things.

The August screening brings you a cinematically brilliant film, The Giants.

Synopsis:

The Giants portrays the deep connection between trees and humans through the life of Australian environmental hero and the Australian parliament’s first openly gay member, Bob Brown. The film follows Brown's journey from a passionate advocate to a central figure in green politics, intertwining his story with the life cycle of the ancient trees he protects. This epic and cinematic film highlights Brown’s activism and sparks urgent conversations about forest preservation and environmental rights.

All activities, including discussions and refreshments, will occur between 7:00 and 9:00 PM.

All Living Things Environmental Film Festival is back with the third season of Film Club. A monthly meet up across 12 cities over 5 months, orbiting environmental cinema that cracks you open without trapping you in doom and gloom.

It is a room full of people choosing to show up in cities whose infrastructure persuades you to stay home, choosing to sit together, watch together, and turn private anxiety into collective imagination. Messy. Human. Honest conversation.
